Biography
Op. Dr. Batuhan Demir finished medical school in 2009 and started general surgery training at Ege University, his first choice in the national specialty exam. He completed specialty training in 2015.
From 2015 to 2018 he worked at Tepecik Training and Research Hospital across general surgery. In 2018 he returned to Ege University Department of General Surgery as a lecturer, where his work included liver and kidney transplantation, cancer surgery, obesity surgery, and other general surgical procedures, together with academic research.
He taught general surgery to medical students and residents. In April 2023 he left the lecturer post at Ege University so he could spend more time with patients. He now sees patients in his own practice and operates at contracted private hospitals, including Metropol Hospital in İzmir.
His clinical focus is thyroid and breast cancer surgery, oesophageal and gastric surgery, colon and rectal surgery, liver and biliary surgery, pancreatic cancer surgery, hernia surgery, and obesity surgery.
